Hey, Wire does corrode, since the wires are made from copper (And not oxygen free), they oxidize and become brittle. If you do find a harness, you're better off. I started to rewire a squareback recently and most of the wires are cracking, the same thing happened on my KG. Granted, the connectors are the biggest troubles you'll encounter (They tend to break apart). When you start to pull at the wire in place, you'll most likely snap them if they are original. barryp@mars.superlink.net Like my Dad said "The more you stir sh*t, the worst it stinks" Central New Jersey, USA (AKA - The Armpit of the East Coast) 1938 Ford Barrel nose Pickup (Orginal) 1969 VW Karmann Ghia (Custom - In the works) 1970 VW Type 3 Squareback (SO's car, I'm permitted to work on it) ---------- > From: Keith Park <parkkj@orion.crd.ge.com> > To: type-3@umich.edu > Subject: Re: Electrical Question > Date: Friday, January 03, 1997 10:39 AM > > HI! > Emily; 1st off there is no replacement harness avail and if you have > one made up your looking $300 or more.
