An engine which has been under water is drained empty, then completely filled with diesel fuel - block, cylinders, carb, everything. BUT THE DIESEL FUEL IS DRAINED AWAY BEFORE STARTING THE ENGINE. I can't think of any other reason for putting diesel fuel in a gasoline engine. Tim Dapper
