Those little vents actually are a part of the intake system. If you were to follow them, there is a channel down to the fender. There it is open to the air intake. So actually this vent has a vacuum to it. and therefore would suck the fumes inside your car out, not allow them in. > > Bottom line is, just be reseating the engine cover, the fumes were >cut down a lot.
