I had a sheet metal guy for a race car company bend me two pieces of aluminum plate to fit the top and bottom parts of the rear passenger floor pan (where the battery sits). They were very simple bends, one up bend in the rear and another on the side. The metal overlapped the existing metal by about 2-3 inches. I cleaned the rust out and propped the bottom piece in place, set the top piece in place and drilled several holes for pop rivets. I then put Henry Roofing Glue between the plates and pop riveted it together. No leaks, and I make sure that I have battery terminal pads to stop corrosive action. I have had several windows that get diffucult to roll up/down. I have taken the entire window crack assemby out of the car and de-greased it. The grease they used seems to get very sticky and acts more like a glue than a lubricate. I then re-lube every thing with 3M pink (can't remember the right name) grease. ------------------------------------- Craig Woolston '70 Sqback and '71 Fastback cwoolsto@ladc.lockheed.com
