All, I recently rebuilt the engine that came in my 71 fastback. It is 1584cc and I set the deck height so as to have 6.9:1 compression. Later I read that this was unnecessary as the fi system will correctly read the engine parameters and compenate for any higher temps that would normally be found in carburated car using a cr of 7.7:1 (or so). Will running the engine set at 6.9:1 cr damage the fi system or the engine itself? If so I will pull the engine and remove the spacers I have under the jugs (0.060). Thanks for any tips. Eric PS I never really got an answer to my previous post as to why 32PSDITs have different size jets from the left side to the right. The theory so far is that the different size jets were installed to make 3&4 run rich. Anyone ever heard of this or is there another reason. Well while I'm at it how critical are the special T3 cool tins versus the little T1 square under cylinder tins. I have the T1 under my 69 fb's cylinders but suspect they make the engine run hotter than it otherwise would if I had the T3 tins under there. Again I'm learning.
