Hi I have what I hope to be an easy question. I currently have a 73 automatic fastback that's a daily driver. The original engine was a basket case and had non-working A/C. I had the original engine swapped out for a great running 71 FI engine. My question....the car seems to run fine but I have read various articles about keeping the original control unit for the proper year engine. Is this true?? I have the control unit for the "new" engine (currently the 73 ECU is running the 71 engine). The only thing that I really have a problem with is the warmer the engine gets the rougher the idle while stopping at a traffic light or whatever. When driving on the expressway at 55-60 mph I notice no miss or lack of power. Should I leave well enough alone or make the swap???? Thanks for all responses. Larry D.
