Stuart, The front ends from the '68's will fit in your '71. Only SOME of the FI parts will work in your '71, check part numbers carefully! Front hood and fenders will not work, good for trading material though. Rear fenders can fit, but you will have to use '68 taillights and isolate the reverse light leads or use the sepparate reverse lights from the '68's (IF they have the reverse light option, you didn't state if Auto or not.) IF all are manual Trannys, they can swap. Autos, maybe, depends. Doors will fit, side and back glass will fit. Rear door will fit (not true if you had a '73 instead of '71) I think that the seats will fit (front and back) (although the headrest is different, but you could swap the seat backs), pan halves would be good for transplants, if they are any good. Wiring is basically the same, just a few differences. Guages, ok; Dash ,ok; carpet, ok; Steering wheel, maybe depends on how early or late '71; rear brakes, ok; rear fork, ok for that matter; wheels, ok... what else... the '67 Bug wheels WILL NOT WORK on your '71. Period. '67 Bug wheels would only fit on pre 65 cars, and it would have the wrong offset anyway. This is from memory though, not sure if I forgot anything... I'd go for it if you can swing the cash, it's a good enough deal to just part out and sell the unwanted parts! Good Luck, Big Al awpresley@earthlink.net Neil, R.
