Call me an unsatisfied bastard but I cannot believe that VW made so many
different beading colours for the T3's to match their paint. I too have
seen some evidence that they did do this but all the brown shaded cars
seem to have the same beading colour here, as do all the blues. Not
convinced. I would like to hear from someone that has seen different
shades of blue beading for example. I am still looking for a couple of
bits of green beading for my Velvet Green '64 Notch and do you think I
can find them? Ha Ha Ha, next question they ask! I have been looking for
5 years now and it is at the stage that I have given up on restoring the
Notch and I have concentrated my efforts on the T3 panel van which
fortunately will use black beading. Even paul at the T3 Detectives in
the UK has had a nightmare finding NOS black beading for it. He has been
looking for a little over a year and only has 3 pieces (out of 6) so I
am flying over to the UK, Holland and Germany to finally get all the
rubbers etc that I need for the finale of this never ending project.
Tail gate rubber, Ha Ha Ha, next question? And no the Type 1 stuff will
not fit correctly as I have seen a car with it and it looked like a dogs
breakfast which to those not used to seeing a dogs breakfast is very
messy indeed!
Glad I am painting the panel van black and not ruby red again!
Aaron. (sorry for the moaning but it was 36 degrees today and I am as
hot as hell- apparently very hot!)
