Well, frankly, I don't think I would recommend that you do anything 
except wipe off some of the more accessable parts with an oily rag.  
A light coating of oil on things will keep them from rusiing, and, 
yes, even the magnesium case will corrode.  It can lose quite a bit 
of material around the stod bosses for the attachment to the tranny 
and to attach the lower air deflector tin.  If it is really bad, then 
I would stick to things like Gumout , kerosene, or mineral spirits.

I think the active ingredient in Easy Off is still Sodium Hydroxide 
which can react strongly with aluminum; in most cases magnesium will 
react with anything that aluminum does, so I don't think I would want 
to find out what it would do to my case.  I'm sure it would remove 
some material.
