I believe there are both early and late 6V generators; I don't know 
when the changeover occured.  The late 6V units are the same diameter 
as the 12 V units and are the same wattage.  The early 6V units are 
smaller in diameter and wattage.  Obviously it is easier to switch 
from a late 6V system to a 12 V system.  There was only one diameter 
and wattage of 12V generator.
