Re[2]: again considering 12v conversion

I have a '65 engine that is 6v. I noticed that my 12v generator will not fit on
the 6v generator mount as the 12v generator is bigger than the 6v. Comparing
the two, side by side, confirmed this. My question: Is there a 12v generator
that is the size of the 6v generator (my guess, from below, is 'yes' but I wanna
make sure)? If so, is a larger generator better than a smaller one (voltage and
amperage being the same, I presume) and why? If they're the same why did VW go
with a bigger object? Enlighten me, por favor.
