I probably would, but it might be much more difficult... I believe that the worth of our VWs is a result of our enthusiasm, not the inverse. The enthusiasm comes from the love an automobile that is unique in auto history. I know of know other car the you can bolt the driver's side door of a 1997 model onto a 1968 model and have it fit perfectly. For that matter, there are no cars that I know of that a 68 and 97 are even recognizable as the same car. Ford recently laid claim to the beetle's record of most vehicles of a given model (F-series trucks) being built, but the 97 F150 does not share a sinlge common part with the 53 F100 as far as I know. That we love the air-cooled VW (in all of its forms) has created a demand for them that has helped to maintain the value. Just my 2 cents......
