It has finally gotten warm enough for me to get out and work on my car this spring. In the process of going through my usual routine it occured to me that many of you might not realize that every type III front end has four (4!) Zerk (grease) fittings that need to be lubricated periodically. I hit mine twice a year, spring and fall, which is probably more often than necessary, but there is no harm in lubing these often. To do the best job, jack the front wheels off the ground while doing this job. That lets the new grease get all around the bearings. Many of these cars have suffered because their owners (and/or servicers) did not know about these fittings, or only spotted the bottom two.
