On the car, when replacing pads, I just use a crowbar. You need to be VERY
careful not to let the crowbar slip and damage the rubber boot around the
piston while you're doing this.
After rebuilding, I just use a C-clamp, but one must keep in mind that the
piston should slide in rather easily. Do NOT force the piston in with the
C-clamp; if it is going in hard it is not straight and you will damage the
caliper if you try to force it.
