Appreciate advice, fellow T3ers. It is probably a short in the wire that goes down the center of the steering column. They usually chafe and short to ground where they exit at the steering gear end. It's been too long, so I don't remember the exact wiring scheme, besides there were at least two different schemes used over the years. Check a good manual for details.
