Hey all... I just picked up on this thing...you'll probably here from me often. My type three quest is to build a Squareback woody when I retire early (yeah, right!!!);) For now I have a '70 Squareback, green (on it's way to black primer) with one tan door & gray primer spots all over. The red wheels with stainless trim rings & stock caps really set off the oxidation on the green paint that *is* left. ;} I've owned two other type 3's, a '72 Square which was my first car, then a '68 Fastback (which I still have for parts). I bought my current Square the very next day after my Fastback finally died it's last death! The only problem I have with my car is all the damned rust on it. It's all on the inside, mostly heater channels & behind the rear fenders/cargo floor. I'm trying to find a solid body (I have every thing else), so if anyone has any leads... I've been keeping my eye out on the internet & have a couple possibilities, but they're more than I need, & I'm definatly on a budget! As far as tv type3's go, there is a Hallmark commercial that shows around Christmas time that has a Squareback getting pushed by several ppl in the snow...just on the screen for a second & only shows the rear half of the car. :) O.k. sorry to make this so long but I figured I'd just get that stuff out of the way & introduce myself...
