T3'rs... A type 3 in the Fugitive? I guess I wasn't paying attention! Was there a pretty girl in the same shot? Have you all seen the VOA TV commercial for a Squareback (Variant) from the early 60's. It features a *very* young Dustin Hofman (pre Graduate? I don't know) climbing in and out of the doors and rear hatch looking for the engine. Of course, not to be found! I just happened to see this spot on one of those "before they were stars" programs a few years ago re: Hofman. I wasn't quick enough to get my VCR rolling. Piss. I have no idea what year it's from, but it featured a square with a steel sunroof if memory serves. I think it was a 1500 S (I don't think they called it a Square or a Variant). Saw it only once, went by pretty fast and I was jumping up and down trying to get every on in the room to check it out! I wonder, are such things archived at VW (for sure the ad agency, but who knows who that was?) It's classic pre-"farfednugen" (sp?) VW humor. Are there any other T3 Commercials? I was born in '64 so I don't recall much! I *think* we had a TV? Any spots featuring a Notch from Europe? kj ____________________ Ken Jones kjones@cwo.com '65 Notch '68 Fastback
