About those brakes, there is an adjustment to be made between the piston on the master brake cylinder and the brake pedal. By removing the toe panel, you can access the master cylinder pushrod. There should be a 1 mm clearence between the pushrod and the master cylinder piston when the brake pedal is in the resting postion. More then 1 mm, and there may be more than th necessary spacing causing you to maybe "pump" up the brakes, or maybe have the pedal bottom out before the brakes fully come on. Less then 1 mm and there will be too much residual pressure, causing the brake pads and shoes to drag, overheating the brake fluid, and forcing the brakes to apply themselves and lock up while you're out testing your brakes on the highway (been there, done that) Any time you replace any of the shoes, or pads, or cylinders, make your adjustments, and bleed them thoroughly.
