Agreed on the valve situation.  The possibility of switched sides
would only be of minor concern.  Usually when rebuilding the
heads it is stressed to keep all valve-related parts together
(valves, rockers, pushrods, etc.) because they have worn
together.  With rebuilt heads and new valves the only parts left
out of the "mated" formula would be the pushrods.  If you're
replacing them too, it should make no difference which side the
rebuilt heads go on.
