Hello fellow Volksmail recipients! I called VWoA looking for an address for VW of Germany. The nimrod that I spoke to could only, after keeping me on hold two different times for a total of 15 minutes, come up with an international number - but no address. Exasperated, I asked him if he realized how stupid that sounded, and he did. Any way (vent over), does any one have an address to which I can write to find out more about our "kids"? I have heard conflicting stories as to the number of Notchbacks imported to the US, or if they ever were at all. I also have a strong feeling that ours was originally sold in Germany (dealer plate in front of both doors, German writing on engine compartment cover). Our bus is just plain old great and I would feel like a traitor if I knew the story on the Notch and not our friend, Buster... So - to those of you with those really cool production/delivery dates - how did you do it?? My sincerest appreciation in advance :) BTW - I never did introduce myself... My husband, Steve, and I live in SF; are doing a down-and-dirty custom resto job on the Notch (Web page soon to be posted - famous last words); and appreciating our bus for all its valued loyalty and service - it's next in line for the super-redo. Since the bus likes to take long drives, broken up by days camping, we're doing the Notch first-as a daily driver. Then we can give Buster some time off, some good loving care, and a (permanent?) reprieve from the killer SF hills, leaving him for the road trips!
