First thing: If you don't have any shop manuals, get 'em. I have a Haynes
manual for the Type III (it's cheap, touches on everything, and VW specialty
shops have them), some other nondescript Type III shop manual, and The Idiot's
Guide (something I think should be *mandatory* for any home VW mechanic). When
I get the bucks I plan on getting the ultimate: Bentley.

If you feel silly...my Type III came with a German manual, so I'm not
exactly sure what all the controls do! Anyone on either list care to
educate the both of us (as I also need to remove the dash levers)?
