HI!
Hign cold idle is normal. The speed is adjustable by the auxillary air
regulator. There is a screw on the side but you must remove it from the
engine to get at it.
Is your press sens filled with oil? it is if you overfilled the air cleaner. This can cause problems especially if its cold out.
Did you interchange the cold start injector plug with the temp #2 plug?
I've found this before and it will cause rich arunning when hot.
