> Theo; there's supposed to be a tonque spot welded into the rectangular >hole to limit movement. This is only done on the cars that have the popouts >that i have seen. I have scrapped out two 71s: the early one had the rectangular holes and the late one did not. I have a set of the popout windows that have the plastic "thingies", but I didn't remove them myself so I have never seen exactly how they all fit together. Could you please describe the spot welded tongue in more detail? I think the "thingie" is: 311-847-129B PROTECTIVE STRIP - HINGE [4 per car] There is also another part called out which appears to be the tab that sticks out of the window frame: 311-847-125A HINGE HOOK [4 per car] Jim --------------------------------------------------------------------- Melissa Kepner Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org jadney@vwtype3.org Laura Kepner-Adney Madison, Wisconsin ---------------------------------------------------------------------
