more IRS vs swing


Hi all,

Ok, more imput on the debate.

Swing: easier to change axle boots ant no constant velocity joints, IRS,
ROYAL pain.

IRS: no uneven tire wear, wheel stays upright when lowered, EASY engine
removal.

Swing: axle tube seals (yuch), Trany/axles can be removed together
easily.

IRS: No wheel tuck at higher speeds, Car can be wheeled around when
tranny removed (not so for swing).


And Yes, Automatic '68s had IRS also.  '68 manual trans had swing.


If anyone is interested, I have done the switch from swing to IRS, and
the switch from manual to automatic.  VERY LITTLE BODY MODIFICATIONS
NECESSARY!  I can help with how to questions.
