I remember years ago when I first got my 73, it wouldn't hold a speedo cable,
turns out there was a broken piece of the old cable still in the socket on the
speedo head. When tightened this would jam the cable and break it.
I also remember having to loosten the cable a couple of turns to get it
to quit bouncing on another car, routing is also critical.
