actually the stroker cranks dont shorten the life of the engine like big bore barrels do. 2110(90.5x82) might be shorter lived than a 1776 but not by much since its still the 90.5mm bore. a 2007(90.5x78) is normally supposed to live as long as a 1776. i haven't herd of the 82mm cranks shortening the life of the engine and they now cost the same as 78mm cranks. i wouldn't buy a mass produced engine(bergman engines are mass produced). i would either build it myself or have a professional builder build it to spec(and make sure its a reputable builder). you wont be able to use a porsche style fan shroud on a type3 without major mods. if you want maximum reliability you may want to consider a type4 coversion(porsche 914, VW 411, and late bus engine). you can get a ton of power out of a type4 and they are much more reliable than a type1/3 engine but they are a bit more expensive. if you are interested in a type4 conversion i would go to http://www.aircooltechnology.com or go to http://www.shoptalkforums.com and check out their type 4um __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
