[T3] 6 V Batteries?

A friend of mine just asked me if I knew of a source for 6 V batteries. We 
both remember that old VWs took a Group 1L battery, but he knew that the L 
was for "Low", something I'd never known. There must have been a taller 
Group 1 battery used in cars like '51 Chevys.

At any rate, 6 V batteries seem to be almost unavaliable these days, except 
in motorcycle sizes. So for those of you with early Type 3s, what are you 
using and where do you get them?
