RE: [T3] Side Mirrors?

I would love to rejuvenate the mirrors but I think I missing a few parts
to the one since the glass fell out.

I am posting another link with photos of the mirror.
I am in Colorado and have no idea where I can get stuff to rebuild these
mirrors or even how to.

There are also some photos of the rear shock I just removed although
this car is in need of some major TLC I am a bit shocked at how little
maintenance has ever been done in its life.
The shocks are marked with the VW part numbers and say made in West
Germany and have the undercoating still on them. Speedometer reads
83,000 but I am guess its at least 183,000 probably more since the trip
meter does not work and when reset it advances the odometer by one mile.
Any how here is the link to the Mirror photos:

May I suggest something? If it is original, rejuvenate it. What I mean
is,
replace what is only necessary, unlike a restoration that gets rid of
everything. A rejuvenation preserves the character and feel as it came
from
the factory; something different and special.

I am doing a rejuvenation, as I am the one that created it! l.o.l.
Folks said
it was to nice to get rid of the original. Made it a bit more
interesting,
but has saved some expense. Here is the thread:

On page two, there are close photographs of the type three mirrors.

The undercoating was dealer. I would suggest to check your drain holes
on
the boxes mounted to the outside of the trunk walls. On the driver's
side
it has a mount for the expansion canister, and between that and the
wall, you
will find a lot of dirt; at least I did.

Do not be sorry, I was/am in the same place, and enjoy helping,
especially as
it is accepted or corrected properly. On theSamba, some posts do not go

though, and some folks give me a hard time for helping. It is a joy to
be
on here, as I feel I can help.

You will find the type 3 better than a Bug. Better ride, more features,
and
more room.

I am too!  The vast knowledge from the gurus is absolutely amazing;
guess that
is what happens after thirty years of experience! l.o.l.

Thank you,
