Re: [T3] Help please with EFI

Jim, did you check the compression? Do you have new plugs, points and plug
wires? Did you check the firing order? Also, pull the spark plug lead loose
from the cap and hold just above the opening while someone turns the engine
over and see if you have a good spark.

Well, we checked to see if the injectors were working while actuating the
throttle with the key on. Yes, they all worked, we can hear them and feel
them working. BUT, I was reading the Elfrink EFI book and it says that the
injectors fire in pairs of 1-4 and 3-2. Our's are firing in pairs of 1-3
and 4-2. Would this cause a problem? How do I make sure they're firing
correctly, ie, 1-4 when the 1 intake is open (short of crawling underneath
and popping the valve covers)? I know I just need to switch a pair of
wires, but how do I tell which pair?

We checked the fuel pressure with a guage in the fuel ring. It would only
come up to 23 lb. could not adjust it up with the regulator. Also,
pressure would drop rather quickly when the pump was turned off. Put the
guage right on the pump and the pump would only do 23 lb, disconnected from
the rest of the fuel system. It's a rebuilt transporter pump and the shop
is gonna get us another one. Would being down 5 lb from 28 lb be enough to
cause a starting problem?

Thanks, Jim, I don't know if you remember, but you rebuilt a frozen
distributor off a '69 Square before and it worked great.
