I doubt it. The 009's popularity dates way back into the early 60s, 
as a replacement for the standard vac-only dists. This was the only 
thing you could do if you wanted to replace your Solex with the 
Holley Bugspray and in the process lost your vacuum port.

Much of this is covered by Bill Fisher in "How to Hotrod the VW 
Engine."
