I checked the throttle valve switch, and it was not making contact at all.
I took it off, cleaned it up, and ground the ears out so that it would
adjust a little more.  Now it just clicks when the throttle plate is closed.

I took it for a test drive around the block and it SEEMS to drive better.
Time will tell.
