They are almost all shot by now. The plated-on metal corrodes until there's 
nothing left that is conductive. If you just want one that looks right, but 
doesn't really defrost anymore, I probably have a couple and there are other 
people here who probably have more.

I checked with VWoA many years ago and they had exactly one new one in stock. 
That one was in one of their distribution warehouses in Texas and it would have 
cost me $400 then. That was probably around 1985.
