There are 2 ways to do this. Which every way you do it, put BOTH rear axles up
on jackstands before you start.
1) Remove the wheel and tire and all the bolts. Use a torch to heat the face of
the drum from the hub joint to about 2" outward. Do not heat the hub and do not
let the torch flame go thru the lug holes. Go round and round until you hear a
little click and it will be loose.
2) Remove the wheel and tire and bolts from one side; leave the other wheel in
place. Get in the car, start the engine, and put it in gear. Speed up the
wheels until you're at med rpm. Keeping your right foot on the throttle, brake
hard with your left foot. If you kill the engine, you're not going fast enough
or you removed both wheels and tires.
I find method 2 to be easier, even though you have to put that wheel back on to
free the other side. If you're willing to work on just one side at a time, this
is even easier.
I also prefer method 2 because it doesn't get the brake parts so hot that they
are damaged or just too hot to work on.
