Sorry I was not clear. I read the paper that you sent me (and a great thank
you, to you for it), and understood where you are going. I checked the
voltage at the fuse box; a little over 12. Now, here is the hang up, I have
a push button to start the auto. You turn the key over, and then push the
button. When the key is all the way over, I still do not get the idiot
lights. I know the generator light works, because it flashes with the
hazards. I have only my arm for turn signals, which it seems most do not
know what they are (probably not since it is not on any of the tests). I
got a used turn signal assembly, but it does not work, and the arm
smoothness is not right.  So, again I ask about rebuilding one.  I digress;
I decide to check anyway. I sat down on the tunnel (just the right size for
my body) facing the two boxes. I check the wiring diagram, and decide on
the one on the right. You and the Bentley state that the brown ground wire
goes to the generator. Apparently not for the German market, mine has a
short grounding wire. I grounded what I thought was 61, as directed, no
light. So, I sand that spade connector, both ends of the ground wire, the
screw, the seat frame, and the regulator. I start the auto, and it still is
rough, and was even more trouble to start. I try to check the voltages at
various connections, and have no luck on getting a reading. I pull the blue
wire, and it causes the engine to stumble. Why would an idiot light do
that? So, do I need idiot lights? All I want is proper working turn
signals, and an engine that can decelerates without shaking forward and
back.

Sincerely,
Adriel H. Rowley
