That really doesn't seem like a good reason to tear into what seems  
to have been a well-running component before. You'd waste money at  
the least, and rebuilding something that was good to begin with may  
even introduce new problems.

If I were you I'd do what I can without disassembling the  
transmission and give it a good clean, but that's it.
