[T3] FI Power and Idle Issues

Hey All~

Appreciate the interest and any help. I need some
ideas here. 70 FI engine has a subtle miss when idling
and a serious lag when accelerating. It really lacks
low end power. I can make the problem worse or much
worse but not better. New plugs, wires, cap, rotor,
points have not helped. I can verify each plug is
firing. The old plugs when removed looked like normal
wear with good color, each looked about the same as
the other.

I can not retard the ignition any more because the
condenser hits the fan housing. I probably should
change the distributor intermediate drive shaft timing
to correct this but I have nightmarish visions of the
thrust washer(s) making a quick getaway into the
depths of the case - is this a valid concern? I am
also not sure if the condenser is the right one and
that is the reason it is hitting the housing. The
rubber plug and mounting bracket/retainer are correct.

Any ideas or suggestions would be of great help as
this car is a daily driver.
