Code is L12D, and you should have 64 stamped across the end of the 3" x 1/2"
metal painted plate on the end of the front panel with the hood catch and VIN
plate.
Incidentally, that long plate gives the day it was made - fiscal week - day of
week - production line serial number.  12-3-4567  would be 12th week of calendar
year from Jan 1st, Wednesday (day 3), zone 4(probably), line 5 (maybe) number 67
(more guesswork!).
