<x-rich>Fellows,
While going thorough my stuff with the intention to do the inventory,
I found 7 air pressure sensors (all made by Bosch) with the following
numbers:
Bosch number
VW number
1. 0 280 100 116
311 906 051 E
2. 0 280 100 116
no number stamped
3. 0 280 100 049
022 906 051 E
4. 0 280 100 049
022 906 051 E
5 . 0 280 100 049
022 906 051 E
6. 0 280 100 049
no number stamped
7. 0 280 100 007
The Type 3 parts book I have ( printed 1971) states VW part # 311 906
051 E as one for cars with engines U 5000 001/ X0 000 001. Someone
wrote a note stating that the number is for '71 and later cars.
Elfrink book (page 52) states VW # 311 906 051C as the number for late
Type 3. On cars of which years is this sensor installed?
My '72 Squareback has the engine # X0 002 521.
Will any of listed above air pressure sensors work on my engine? One
can see that sensors having numbers 906 051 E can have different
proceeding 3 numbers (311 and 022) and do have different Bosch
numbers. Can be that these sensors are for different cars but
internally and functionally are identical?
Anyway what I really need is to have one spare sensor for my car and,
if what I found isn't good for my '72 car, sell what I have. All
sensors look very fresh.
What is the correct automatic transmission VACUUM UNIT number for my
car (body # 362 214 6881) ?
My thanks in advance.
