RE: [T3] upgrades to stock-FI motor?
<x-flowed>I've just rebuilt my '73 FI motor.
It has a CB counterweighted crank (which required an 8 dowel stock
flywheel). Being stock stroke, the only thing this effects is
mechanical vibration and maybe pickup when you floor it. No effect on
the FI at all.
I got the whole rotating assembly dynamically balanced & rods matched
for weight. I CCd the heads and they were the same +- 0.5cc (as
accurate as I could measure!).
It runs very smoothly now, 400 miles on the clock.
I have never seen the point of 1641. 4% increase in CC? You'd get that
much increase in power just from new rings, on a tired motor, or a
good tune up. Not worth the extra bucks IMHO.
Others will comment on the cam & CC.
