Just some comments on how our floorpans seem to rust.... When I did the 72 pan for the Notch I noticed that the steel they are made from seems to rust by burrowing holes down thru the metal when its kept constantly wet (from the inside) this results in pinholes everywhere... something Toby mentioned on his. The pan of the crate (65) seems to be made from the same metal and even without those stiffening strips its surprising how much rigidity remains on a rusty pan with numerous pinholes and small holes. It is a Bi**h to sandblast these!!!!! If possible, take it to an industrial sandblaster as it really requires a lot of work for a small home unit. Im hoping and it seems to be true that sandblasting the underside where the rust is thinner and not burrowed thru is much easier, but the topside was a real pain. Im using the Eastwood rust reformer after blasting as there will still be SOME rust at the bottom of the pits and that should take care of it, then filling the small holes with some Eastwood seam sealer. Ill have pictures up soon...
