Remember, WD 40 is not oil, it will tend to clean out the oil and then evaporate and leave you with nothing. SAE 30 is what you need. The distributor shaft needs to come apart, and if you've never done it before you may damage something or lose the Jesus clip on top. This is one of those services that Jim A offers, and is well worth the money has he will take care of things you may not even know needed attention, and when done its ready for another 100K miles. I opened the distributor up and moved the advance manually. It seems a little stiff. I retimed the car to the proper place and it is running good- still has a slight skip. What can I oil the advance with? WD-40 or something?
