[T3] some times gunk is gunkie...

<x-flowed>the saga of the 1904cc GEX redux is finally continuing onward. some of you will remember when i drove up to portland and had to redo the top end of the engine after 4k miles in Toby's garage. well, tonight i went out to do a partial tune on the engine (it was pinging up the mountain today) and found the air cleaners completely full of gunk as well as the top of the engine covered with grime and gunk. the culprit? Gex put the vents on the valve covers in the middle of the top of the cover... this, inturn, put the vent hoses at an tough angle around the carb manifolds which in turn over time have buckled to the point of not really doing any venting. so, saturday, i will be putting real german valve covers on the engine with the breathers in a more traditional and better position. this should allow the breather to breath again and my engine compartment to be less gunkie. and a non-gunkie engine is a happy car!
