Unaltered, our cars would run like crap .. if they ran at all. The
mixture
needed for E85 is quite a bit richer than gasoline.
The carburator guys could use it OK with a jetting change, but only
until
corrosion from the alcohol turned their carbs, metal fuel lines and gas
tanks into junk. Even if the stock FI could have the mixture adjusted
enough to use E85, you'd still face the same corrosion issues.
The flex-fuel cars being built to use E85 have lines and tanks made of
stainless steel. :D
