Exactly right. It's an "open on rise" temp switch. It allows the CSV to be energized only when the temp switch is below its switch point temperature. > Sure enough, when I test it right out of the freezer, it reads about 1.1 > to 2.0 ohms, and then rapidly warms enough to go to infinite ohms, > "opening" the connection. Yes, it should be open when warm and closed when cold. The actual switch point varies with the year. I believe there were 3 different sensors used (2 in '70, one for the early C brain and a different one for the later D brain), each with a different switch point temperature. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
