That's the idea, Constantino. You've explained the pedal movement fine. The 1mm free-play is needed to allow the compensation ports to be cleared. If there is no freeplay, the fluid is sealed in the MC and hoses, and will gradually apply the brakes as heat expands the fluid. I've had that happen with the wrong rebuild kit used - not handy as I was on my way to a VW meeting in Germany! I had to release the pressure by unscrewing the bleed screw for a moment while the fluid shot out, and then drive with lots of anticipation to avoid using the brakes - they would have worked if needed, just maybe not come off again after without releasing the bleed screws again for a moment.
