Tim, Sorry, your question got lost in my backlog after you asked for a photo, which I never got around to taking. I have a good pair here that I can sell you. Your web site indicates that you are in Canada (it would be a help if you showed this in a sig file at the end of your emails) so shipping will be a little more costly, but I could still sell you the pair for US$35, including shipping. Note that the ones I have are for a stock type 3 beam to a stock type 3 pan. You mention that you wanted to put a type 1 beam in there. It's common for people to want to do this, but it's only because they aren't familiar with the type 3 beam. The type 3 beam is stronger than the type 1, and it includes, as part of the original design, a sway bar which is better than the add-ons that you get on later beetle beams. From '66-on, the type 3 beams came set up for disk brakes. Type 3 beams are readily raised or lowered without cutting or welding anything, although I don't like doing that to them. The only thing that the type 1 beam has going for it is simplicity and cheap brazilian replacements. If you need any of the rubber snubbers that go around the type 3 axle beam, or that go above the clamps, I have those too. sorry for forgetting you, Jim On 2 Mar 2006 at 7:00, Tim Johnson wrote: > hey there Jim I don't think I ever got a price on these from you > > My Sites > www.skinnysparts.com > www.kwic.com/~skinny > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Jim Adney" <jadney@vwtype3.org> > To: <type3@vwtype3.org> > Sent: Thursday, January 12, 2006 5:11 PM > Subject: Re: [T3] frt beam clamps > > > > On 12 Jan 2006 at 16:33, Tim Johnson wrote: > > > > > hey is there any place that makes aftermarket beam clamps for the type 3 > > > like off road type or something > > > my fastback is etting a few mods and if i can't find ones for the press > beem > > > from the type 3 then i will go to a type 1 beam > > > > I have good used OEM ones.
