Probably VW's use of the same part in the T-4 (MT or AT). I mean VW liked to 
use as many common parts among the models as possible. Since these were 
already in use on another model, it would make sense for them to use it on a few 
more. An as a side note, yes I did use that red wire that runs from the front to 
the rear in the main harness to hook up my AAR on my T-4 engine. : )
