Yes, this is correct Dave, I have the long end on the carb linkage so there
is no interference as the lever moves.

Looks to me the spring is upside-down on the left one - the long end goes on
the
carb lever, the short end on the tinware.  At least, I've always done it
that
way.
Is that the problem with yours, Keith (or have I got the posts mixed up?).
