I must have a 72 breather on it then, Jim is right, I didn't have it setup the way it should have been, Keith On 22 Jun 2006 at 22:04, Keith Park wrote: > The 71 has a PCV valve, and that tube to the filler, and works well but that > PCV valve as too much of a restriction with the vacuum available from the > carbbed setup on the Notch. It's only a "sort of" PCV valve and it didn't start until '72. Keith's problem was that his engine had only half of the system installed. His modified system didn't have any provision for sucking on the valve, which left him with no crankcase breather. That '72-3 system ONLY works with the stock setup. The '68-71 system does not have the PCV valve. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
