Oh don't say that... IVe got a LONG trip ahead of me!
The cooler seals are a known weak spot on old engines and with it wet under
the cooler I really should have just changed them, probably a good idea
whenever the engine is out for a valve job or such

I understand how you feel, but you must realize that there were lots 
of things in there which you didn't change. You only got caught by 
ONE of them.
